Be Appreciative...Because life is always giving it's gifts and rewards, to overlook them, is to squander the hours that might have been worthwhile. It's easy to focus on what you don't have. So much so, that you might overlook what you have now. For example, if you're reading this email you probably have a roof ever your head, food in your stomach and a computer. Even though you strive for more, what you currently have is something to appreciate.
There may always be a gap between what you want and what you have. While there's nothing wrong with "The Gap," it can have the tendency to pull your attention away from what is readily available to you now.
The Action Step:
Write down those things that you've been overlooking in your life. Start with what you have at your finger tips each and everyday. From there, branch out to the people in your life...Let them know you appreciate them too. The amazing thing about this exercise is it's ability to calm the desire to acquire more. When you appreciate what you currently have, life seems full, it slows down and your ability to enjoy the journey creates patience and peace.
